Specialized OCD treatment
OCD doesn’t always look the way people expect. It can be constant doubt, mental checking, reassurance seeking, or thoughts that feel too frightening to say out loud.
OCD isn’t about being neat. An unwanted thought brings distress, a compulsion brings relief, and that relief keeps the loop going. OCD is my main specialty, and I live with it myself. I went years in therapy before anyone named it, so I take getting this right seriously.
It’s a loop, not a quirk
How I treat OCD
ERP
Exposure and Response Prevention is the most researched treatment for OCD. Together, we build toward facing what scares you, at a pace you agree to, while practicing not doing the compulsion.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps you make room for uncertainty and hard feelings while moving toward what matters most to you.
I-CBT
Inference-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy looks at the reasoning that makes an obsession feel believable in the first place, and helps you trust your senses and common sense again.
You’re always in charge of the pace.
Good therapy is collaborative, never forced.
Ways to work with me
Individual therapy
Weekly or every-other-week sessions, 53 to 55 minutes, in person at my office. For teens 16+ and adults.
Adjunctive OCD therapy
Keep the therapist you already have. I’ll work with you specifically on OCD, while they continue supporting everything else.
Intensives
Concentrated treatment for OCD and phobias, so progress happens in days instead of months. For adults 19+. Opening 2027.
OCD Therapy Group
Concentrated treatment for OCD and phobias, so progress happens in days instead of months. For adults 19+. Starting Spring 2027.
OCD diagnostic evaluations
OCD often goes unnamed for years. A clear diagnosis matters, because OCD responds well to the right treatment.
I offer one-time evaluations for teens 16+ and adults. Most people are referred by their current therapist, who stays their provider throughout. You’re also welcome to reach out on your own. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and self-pay.
How it works
You fill out a few questionnaires online before we meet.
We meet for one 90-minute session in person and look closely at your experiences.
I write a full report with a diagnosis and treatment recommendations, sent to your referring therapist, with a copy to you if you’d like.
