How I approach this work

Therapy with me isn’t about proving who you are. It’s a space to explore your identity, work through dysphoria, stress, or family conflict, and build a life that feels like yours, at a pace that feels right.

As a nonbinary member of the queer community, I bring lived experience along with clinical training. I work alongside you, stay aware of the systems you move through, from health care to school to family, and treat you as the expert on your own gender. Letters are part of this work, offered as a collaboration, not a hurdle.

Therapy can help with:

  • Exploring and understanding your gender identity

  • Coping with dysphoria, stress, and anxiety

  • Navigating coming out and family relationships

  • Handling school, work, and community spaces

  • Preparing for and adjusting to medical care

  • Finding support and connection

Getting a letter

Standalone assessment and letter

For adults 19+. You don’t need to be my client. We meet for one assessment session, and I send your letter to your provider within a week. Sliding scale of $40 to $80. More information below.

Letters for current clients

If you’re already in therapy with me, I can write a letter as part of our ongoing work together.

Letters for youth under 19

For teens in therapy with me, I can write a letter once the 40 hours of therapy required under Nebraska law are complete.

For youth under 19

I work with transgender and gender-expansive teens ages 16 to 18, and with their families. Therapy can be a place to explore identity, cope with stress and dysphoria, and navigate school, family, and a changing world, at your own pace.

Nebraska’s Let Them Grow Act, passed in 2023, bans gender-affirming surgery for anyone under 19 and restricts access to puberty blockers and hormones. Under the state’s rules, young people must complete at least 40 hours of gender-focused therapy, among other requirements, before a prescription. Once a young person I’m working with has completed those hours, I can write a letter to support their care. I know how frustrating these barriers can be, and I’m glad to talk with you and your family about what this process looks like.

A parent or guardian’s consent is needed before we start.

The standalone assessment

  1. Usually one assessment session, about 60 minutes. We talk through your history and what you’re seeking.

  2. Your letter, based on the WPATH Standards of Care, sent to your provider within a week of our session.

How it works

If your surgeon or insurance needs two letters from separate providers, I write one of them and can help you find someone for the second.

I want gender-affirming care to be as reachable as possible. I offer a sliding scale based on your household income, and most people pay $40 to $80. No documentation needed. If you have Blue Cross Blue Shield, I can bill insurance instead. Payment is due at the time of the session.

Cost

I know these assessments can feel like one more hurdle between you and care you’ve already thought through carefully. My goal is to make this part brief, respectful, and affirming.
