Individual therapy is a one-on-one relationship between you and your therapist, built around your specific goals, struggles, and story. Sessions are 55 minutes long and provide dedicated space to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and work toward meaningful change.
At Emerald Psychotherapy, I work with adolescents and adults navigating OCD, trauma, mood disorders, LGBTQIA+ specific issues, problematic sexual behaviors, and more. Together we create an individualized treatment plan and work toward a clear direction forward.

If you are looking for a letter to support hormone therapy or surgery as part of your gender journey, I can help. I write readiness letters based on the WPATH Standards of Care, and I approach this work the same way I approach therapy, as a collaboration, not a gatekeeping process.
You do not need to already be my client. Many transgender and gender nonconforming folks I write letters for come to me specifically for this, meet with me for a single session, and move on with their care. Others are already working with me and want to add this into our existing work together.
How it works
An assessment session, about 60 minutes, where we talk through your history, what you are seeking, and confirm readiness.
A written letter addressed to your provider, completed within a week of our session.
If your surgeon or insurance require two letters from separate providers, I write one of the two. I am glad to talk through referral options for the second.
Cost
This service is private pay and is not billed through insurance. I offer a sliding scale based on self-reported household income, so this is accessible no matter where you are financially. Reach out and we can discuss what fits your situation, no documentation needed. Half of the cost is due at scheduling to get you on my calendar, and the remaining half is due at the time of your assessment.
A note on this process
I know these assessments can feel like one more hurdle between you and care you have already thought carefully about. My goal is to make this part as brief, respectful, and affirming as I can, and to see you as the expert on your own gender and your own life.
This service is for adults only. Minors must accumulate a certain amount of therapy hours in order to start hormones or receive gender-affirming medical care. Please reach out for more information.

Standard weekly therapy is a strong foundation for OCD and phobia treatment, but for some people, more concentrated support can accelerate progress in a meaningful way. An OCD or phobia therapy intensive is a structured, time-limited treatment format that compresses therapy into longer or more frequent sessions over a shorter period, typically ranging from a few days to a couple of weeks. Rather than one session per week, intensives allow for deeper, sustained work using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD and phobias, along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT).
Intensives can be a good fit for people who are newly diagnosed and want to build skills quickly, those who have hit a plateau in weekly therapy, or individuals facing a specific OCD or phobia flare tied to a life transition or stressor. The format creates space to move through exposures more systematically and with more therapeutic support along the way.
I am excited to share that OCD and phobia therapy intensives will be coming soon to Emerald Psychotherapy. If you are interested in learning more or want to be notified when they become available, feel free to reach out.
