Emerald Psychotherapy is a private practice in Lincoln, Nebraska, built on the belief that every person deserves to feel heard, valued, and genuinely supported. The office is cozy, comfortable, and designed to feel safe from the moment you walk in.
Care here is affirming, evidence-based, and rooted in authenticity and compassion. Every client is welcomed fully, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community and anyone who has felt like they didn't fit somewhere else. Connor works from an anti-colonial, anti-carceral framework, meaning he is mindful of the systems clients move through and works alongside them rather than reinforcing harm. This isn't a place where you'll be handed a worksheet and sent on your way. It's a place where you'll be met with honesty, warmth, and a genuine commitment to your growth.

Connor Sullivan (he/they), PLMHP (Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner) and PCMSW (Provisionally Certified Master Social Worker), specializes in OCD, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and gender affirming care, working with adolescents and adults.
His approach is grounded in a few core beliefs: behaviors that look "problematic" always carry meaning beneath them, thoughts are sometimes just thoughts, and feelings are always valid. That foundation, combined with training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), I-CBT (Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and trauma therapy, shapes every session.
Connor brings both formal clinical training and a deep personal understanding of what it means to live with the kinds of struggles his clients bring to therapy. He was drawn to this work in part because people facing OCD, trauma, and mood disorders are so often underserved or misunderstood, and he has seen firsthand how transformative the right support at the right time can be.
As a member of the queer community himself, Connor brings lived experience to his work with LGBTQIA+ clients. He understands what it means to navigate a world that doesn't always make space for you, and that understanding shapes how he shows up in the room.
Before opening Emerald, Connor worked across group homes, crisis stabilization shelters, inpatient hospital adolescent units, and child advocacy centers. That experience made one thing clear: people deserve someone who shows up for them completely.
At Emerald, it's just Connor. Your care is personal, consistent, and tailored to you. He brings warmth, directness, and the occasional well-placed humor to the work, and when things get hard, he will validate what you're going through and challenge you in the ways that actually move the needle.
